give a child a chance
Remember when you help a child you create everlasting memories. That child will never forget you .Never. I am old now but I still remember those strangers that helped me along the way.
what have you done for a child lately?
I am currently paying for Osman's high school education, His mother died when he was only two years old. He is now a handsome young man who is going to college next year. His sister three years older is now in Nursing school. Exciting.
9/19/08.
I bought two children's books at the the Thrift store today. I am planning to send books to Sierra Leone for the children. When I was in 9Th grade our school Teacher gave us each a book to take home and read. When we returned on Monday,we were each called to the front to read our books. I was so good at reading my book that I was nicknamed "Mrs Hopper and the cat who wanted to go home" because that was the title of the book. Actually my Dad helped me with that homework, we read the book together so I give the credits to him. Hunger is an enemy that must be conquered. Very little learning takes place when a child is hungry, I can testify to that. School meals must be a must in the poor countries. Please go to Sierra Leone and adopt a child. During the ten years war in Sierra Leone many children were made orphans with little or no hope for the future. Its a double blessing, a blessing for the one that gives and for the one that receives. 9/29/08 I have an organization in Sierra Leone called "I am Hungry". It's about providing school lunches for those needy children.
11/6/08
Osman dreams of coming to America. I hope to provide scholarships to children that people write off. I want to give them a chance.

It has been quiet a while.I hope you have not stopped giving. No child, no adult. A weak child, makes a weak adult. the first five to fen years are the most important, its when habits are formed.
